Relative truth is the concept that truth and moral values are relative to the persons or groups holding them. Relative truth says that truth for one person doesn't have to be the same truth for another person.

If we take a look at relative truth in the area of math, do math problems change according to who is calculating them? Does 2 + 2 = 4 for everyone or just for the people holding that truth? Truth is knowledge of things as they are, as they were and as they are to come (Doctrine and Covenants 93:24). Truth does not change just as 2 + 2 = 4 does not change.
Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh to the Father but by me" (John 14:6). As that scripture says, if we want to return to live with God again, it is through Jesus. Jesus also said, "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:32). As we learn more about Jesus through the scriptures, that truth will truly set us free.
With the advent of the printing press by Gutenberg and the printing of the first Bible in 1455, the world became free as it had the word of God more widespread than ever before. However, the common people still didn't have the Bible in their own language. It wasn't until William Tyndale translated the Bible into English in the early 1500s that the truths of the Bible became more widespread to the common people. Consequently, Tyndale was executed for translating the Bible.
With all the sacrifice involved in bringing the Bible to us, why don't we value its truths more? The Bible is the word of God. Let us not forget how important it is to us. It, along with other scriptures, teach us how to live a good life so we can return to God after this life.
