Faith

Who Should We Have Faith In?

Many people put their faith in their friends, their money or their knowledge. While not all bad, the most important faith we can develop is in Jesus Christ. Faith in Jesus can take us into the eternities. It can also profoundly affect and change our lives and the lives of others for good.

See how well you know what the Bible teaches about Jesus Christ by taking a Bible quiz.

As stated above, the most important faith to gain is faith in Jesus Christ. There is a powerful DVD presentations below you can receive hand-delivered to your door that help increase faith in Jesus Christ. Reading the Bible can also help build faith in Jesus Christ.

What is Faith?

An apostle of Jesus Christ in the early 1900s said, "Faith is a principle of power whereby natural forces may be conditioned and controlled" (James E. Talmage).

The Bible, in Hebrews 11:1 tells us, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

How Does Faith Affect Our Lives?

If we don't live with faith, we live in fear. Fear is the opposite of faith. A lack of faith leads one to despair, which comes because of iniquity (sin/willful disobedience to God) (Moroni 10:22). (See Scriptures to learn more about where the volume of scripture "Moroni" is found. It is scripture from a prophet in the ancient Americas.)

How Do Faith and Miracles Work Together? Do Miracles Increase Faith?

Miracles don't increase faith. Faith is developed by living the gospel of Jesus Christ. James 2:18 states, "Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works." In other words, our faith can be measured by our works.

Once true faith is obtained, then miracles, visions, dreams, healings and all other gifts of the spirit as mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12 can come into the life of the true believer. Remember, faith precedes the miracle.
