An Eternal Family

Is an eternal family a reality? God has told us that "neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord" (1 Corinthians 11:11). Yet, when people are married, the person who marries them says, "until death do you part". There is a contradiction there. If the Lord says that man and woman should be together, how come we are told "until death do you part"? And... what about children? Is an eternal family a possibility? Will we be able to be with our family after this life? Find out more by chatting online with a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Steps to Have an Eternal Family

  1. To be an eternal family, first, the husband and wife have to be married by an eternal power—the priesthood of God.
  2. Next, the husband and wife have to be married in a sacred temple of God.
  3. Finally, to have an eternal family, the members of that family have to be worthy to live together eternally. In other words, we have to try our best to live a righteous life and keep the commandments of God for Him to permit us to live together as an eternal family. We don't have to be perfect, but we have to repent when we make wrong choices and stay on the path that leads to God.

God created the earth, you can test your knowledge about this in the Bible by taking a Bible quiz.

To be worthy to live as a forever family, it takes faith, love and effort. It's also important to follow the example of Jesus.
