In this Bible video, we learn what happened after Peter and John were arrested after healing the lame man and preaching at the temple. The following day, they were arraigned before the Pharisees, specifically Annas the high priest. Many of Annas’ relatives were also with them. Peter was then questioned about healing the lame man.
The main question the Pharisees asked was, “by what power, or by what name, have ye done this?” (Acts 4:7) Then, Peter who was filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them: “Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, if we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole; be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole” (Acts 4:8-10). In other words, they said the man was healed by the power of Jesus Christ.

More About Peter and John’s Arraignment:
After Peter gave the answer above, the Pharisees conferred among themselves wondering what they should do with Peter and John because they truly had performed a miracle and a multitude of people were there to witness it. As a result, the Pharisees commanded Peter not to speak or teach any more in the name of Jesus. Then, Peter gave a powerful answer, he said, “Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard” (Acts 4:19-20). Then, the Pharisees threatened them more and let them go.
