On average, over 60 people every day on the internet ask, "What is faith?" This web page will teach you more about faith.

Faith is trust or confidence in someone or something. The religious definition of faith is trust or confidence in God and Jesus Christ. This trust leads people to love God and obey His commandments.

The Bible defines faith as "the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1).

If we live by faith, we are optimistic about the future and hope to return to live with God after this life. The opposite of faith is fear. If we don't have faith, we fear the future and can become depressed and discouraged.

How do we gain more faith?

Here are two ways to gain more faith:

By hearing the word of God, including scripture stories about Jesus found in the New Testament. Romans 10:17 says, "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." To learn more of the words of God, be sure and order a free copy of the Bible below.

Obeying God and performing good works for others strengthens our faith. James 2:18 states, "Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works."
