Who is the Savior of the World?
Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. He suffered for us in the Garden of Gethsemane as he took upon himself the sins of the world and died for us on the cross. Through Jesus Christ, we can repent of our sins and someday return to live with God again.
Why do We Need a Savior?
Nobody is perfect—we all make mistakes and commit sins in our lives. 1 John 1:8 says, "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." It also states in Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"
If we didn't have a Savior, we would all be in the grasp of the devil and become subject to him after this life.

There are Two Main Gifts From our Savior
Because of the sacrifice of our Savior, first, all of us will be resurrected and become immortal after this life (through eternity)—regardless of how we lived our lives. Some religions call this a "salvation".
Next, if we live a righteous life and repent from our sins (we can repent thanks to our Savior), we can receive eternal life which is the greatest of all the gifts of God. With eternal life, we have the opportunity to live with God forevermore through eternity.
John 5:29 states, "And [they] shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation."
Matthew 16:27 says, "For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works." That means that we can receive a reward just by being born to this life. However, for the highest reward, we have to live the best life we can by repenting of our sins and loving our God and neighbor as ourselves.
Finally, in Revelation 20:12-13, it confirms the fact that we are rewarded, in the next life, according to our works, "And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works."
