Words to the Lord's Prayer

Here are the words to the Lord's Prayer as found in Matthew 6:9-13:

"After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen."

The words to the Lord's prayer give us an example of how to pray from the Master himself. However, just a few verses before, in Matthew 6:7, it says, "when ye pray, use not vain repetitions." A vain repetition is when we say the same thing over and over so much that it loses meaning.

We should use the key points from the Lord's prayer as an example of the way to address our Heavenly Father, however, our words should come from the heart.
