The Miracle of the Loaves and the Fishes

Scripture: Matthew 14:14-21

This video about Jesus portrays one of the great miracles of Jesus. To set that stage, Jesus had just heard about the beheading of John the Baptist and departed to go into a desert place - presumably to be alone or to be in the company of His apostles.

When the people found out where Jesus was going, they started to follow Him on foot out of the cities. When Jesus saw the multitude of people, he had compassion on them and healed their sick (Matthew 14:14). Then, when it began to be late, his disciples came to Him and asked if they should send the people away to go to the cities and buy food (Matthew 14:15). Jesus told them not to have the multitude depart but to give them food to eat.

More about this video of Jesus:

After Jesus told His disciples to give the multitude food. They told Him that they only had “five loaves and two fishes”. “And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and [He] took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples [gave] to the multitude.” This is one of the well-known miracles of Jesus; He took five loaves and two fishes and multiplied them, so they would feed 5,000 people. Sometimes in life, we think our cause is lost and that there is no hope. Let us remember that nothing is too hard for the Lord, especially if we have faith in Him. Remember the scripture in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me”.
