Spiritual Healing

In the Bible, there are many cases where those, who had the priesthood of God, laid their hands on individuals who were ill and they experienced spiritual healing. Christ himself was the greatest example of healing others. He healed the sick, raised the dead, caused the lame to walk, the blind to receive their sight, the deaf to hear and He cured all sorts of diseases.

Here are just a few examples of healing in the scriptures:

• When Jesus was in Nazareth, "he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them" (Mark 6:5).
• In Acts 9:17-18, Saul was healed by the laying on of hands:
  17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
  18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.

Spiritual healing is real and is done by faith in Jesus Christ. It is the healing that Jesus himself would do if He were her on earth. However, since He is not here, as in New Testament times, he has given the power of the priesthood, through the laying on of hands, to righteous individuals today who have the authority and power of God to heal.

Spiritual Healing, as Jesus and the apostles of old performed, happens usually on following three conditions. 1. The person giving a "blessing" of healing, through the laying on of hands, must have the proper authority or priesthood of God. 2. The person must be worthy - living a righteous life and have faith. And 3. The person receiving the blessing of healing must have faith - a belief in the power of
Jesus Christ unto salvation (Alma 15:6-8).

Spiritual healing can also happen by prayer. Many people through the ages, with faith in God, have been miraculously healed through the power of prayer.

Does Spiritual Healing Happen Today?

Yes. There are there are those who have the priesthood of God who can give blessings of healing according to the faith in Jesus Christ that the person has.
