Prayer is a powerful tool that can connect us to God, help us feel of his love and bring us his comfort and peace. Through prayer and faith, miracles can happen.

When should be pray?

We can pray anytime, anywhere and under any circumstances. Prayer is free – there's no service plan or service fees to use prayer. God wants us to pray and He wants to bless us; however, there are certain blessings He will only give us if we ask for them through prayer.

Here are a few of the many times we should pray:

• In the morning personally and as a family
• At night before going to bed personally and as a family
• Before we eat meals
• When we are thankful to God
• When we want to ask for God's direction
• We can pray silently any time during the day

Some think that prayer is a sign of weakness – showing that we depend on someone else. However, a wise man once said that we are never taller than when we are on our knees.

Click here for more information on how to pray. When we pray, we should pour out our hearts unto God and not repeat the same wrote prayer over and over again. God is our Father, and just like an earthly father would not want to hear the same exact communication from his children every day, God would like to hear the desires of our hearts and how thankful we are to Him. He loves us and wants to hear from us and bless our lives.

A religious leader of our time said (paraphrasing):

In the past it was enough to say just one prayer together as a family, however, now with the world as it is, we need the strength that morning and evening prayers give our families.

We encourage you to pray personally and in your families and to kneel down when you pray. As you do so, a power and spirit will come into your life that you may not have felt previously.

Answers to our Prayers

When we pray, if we are sincere, God will answer our prayers. Sometimes He may answer our prayers the way we want Him to answer them. Other times, He may give us a "no" answer or an answer that we weren't expecting. It is important to "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6) Sometimes God may make us wait for things we want to teach us patience. A prophet from ancient times said, "believe that man doth not comprehend all the things which the Lord can comprehend". It's important to know that God does what's best for us.

Prayer and Miracles

Miracles still happen according to our faith and prayers. If the thing we are praying for is not against God's will and we pray with enough faith, and if it is a righteous request, God will answer us and miracles can happen. We just have to remember that God's timetable is not always our timetable. However, miracles do happen every day.

Pray for Knowledge of the Truth

In our lives, it's important to pray to know the truth. With so many religions and so many differing beliefs, God is the only source we can turn to for a knowledge of what the truth is.
