Judgment Day

Final Judgment

After this life, we will all stand before God at judgment day. That knowledge alone should be motivation enough to do the very best we can to live a good life. However, we are mortal and make mistakes. However, since Jesus died for our sins, if we repent, God promises to forget our sins. If we don't repent of our sins, we will "have a bright recollection of all our guilt" as we stand before God at the judgment day.

Since there is a final judgment after this life, this life is really "a time to prepare to meet God" (Alma 12:24).

Our Final Judgment will Depend on How we Live our Lives

Revelation 20:12-13 instructs:

"And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works."

Matthew 16:27 teaches the following:

"For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works."

A prophet from ancient scripture found in the Americas declared, "it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do" (2 Nephi 25:23)

After our final judgment, we can be saved in a sphere or degree of glory according to our works.
